Arthur
Saxon
This is the Great
Arthur Saxon bent pressing over 300
pounds. One of the strongest men of all
time. His bent pressing records have not
been broken in over 100 years. Arthur
Saxon is The Iron Master.

Arthur
Saxon
This is Arthur Saxon
preparing to jerk two huge dumbbells. I
estimate these dumbbells to be at least
150 pounds each. These dumbbells were
lifted to the shoulder continental style.

Bill
Kazmaier
Here is Bill Kazmaier
lifting a dumbbell set up to be similar
to the famous Thomas Inch dumbbell, but
actually a little heavier at 176 pounds.
I took this picture on June 18th at the York Barbell Strength
Spectacular .
The handle on this dumbbell is
approximately 2.5 inches, which makes it
extremely difficult to lift. They set up
the dumbbell about an hour before Kaz
lifted it and quite a few people gave it
a try but only fellow Hall of Fame
inductee Mark Chaillet succeeded in even
budging the dumbbell off the ground about
an inch.

Bill
Kazmaier- 2nd attempt
I had no idea what Kaz
would do with this dumbbell on his first
attempt, after all, he is famous for
lifting an Inch dumbbell replica over his
head in 1990. Both of these pictures
basically show the maximum height he
achieved on the lifts. Kaz was apologetic
that he did not lift the dumbbell higher
and mentioned that he was a little over
trained on the lift. I was impressed
anyway because the height he lifted it is
about the same as done by some strong men
in the June 99 issue of Milo.

Bill
Kazmaier's Dumbbell
This is a close up of
the dumbbell that Kaz lifted at York. To
really appreciate the difficulty of
lifting this dumbbell look at the size of
the handle compared to the diameter of
the standard olympic sized shaft.

20-Penny
Nail bitten in half by the Mighty Atom
It's my understanding that
this was the last nail that the Mighty
Atom bit in half. He was 82 at the
time!
