When choosing a treadmill for home use, things to look for are the size of the motor (3 horsepower on Landice's) roller size and voltage requirements. For home use you'll want the standard 110v unless you know you have 220v available. Some consumers who like rugged quality will be tempted to buy the commercial grade Treadmills made for gym use, however, the advantage of Landice home use treadmills are the personal settings, and they are rugged enough to stand up to many years of solid use.

Personal settings are usually not found on commercial gym models because they have multiple users. The Landice can record your daily usage of miles and time spent, and my personal favorite, the last reading on the fitness test. - Not having to go to the gym for a short run (or long run for that matter).
- If you do not belong to a gym, not having to run in the rain or extreme weather conditions like high humidity or heat.
